Opening hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm
Luke Hall opened The Sugar Shack in September when he embarked on a new career path to fulfil his dream of owning a traditional sweet shop. He clearly loves his enterprise, and who wouldn’t!
This is a gem of a shop. All your old favourites are here, displayed in clear containers, their cheerful colours presenting an enticing range of choices. Luke works with two reputable suppliers to source a wide variety of sweets. There are pink mice, liquorice, fudge, humbugs, lemon sherbets, lollies, rhubarb & custard, pear drops, Yorkshire mixture, gummy bears and worms, Pontefract cakes, and many more, even American sweets! There is a selection of sugar-free sweets, a vegan selection and vegetarian sweets made without gelatine. There are 230 different types of sweets for you to choose from. The Sugar Shack also offers seasonal selections of sweets and gift boxes.
This sweet venture is inspired by Luke’s the owner’s deep love for sweets, especially the traditional boiled sweets and pick-and-mix varieties. He realised that in Dorchester, the options for sweets and chocolates were limited to small selections in local supermarkets and this inspired him to create this charming traditional sweet shop. This is a gem of a shop, like walking back in time but with a delightful modern twist.
You will find The Sugar Shack down Trinity House, which is just off Trinity Street (Opposite The Trinity Club). Be sure to pop in and treat yourself to something sweet next time you’re in Dorchester. A visit is pure pleasure!
