Charlotte Loving started Loving By Nature in 2018 in the antiques centre on London Road and moved to Antelope Walk in May 2024. She was raised in Frampton and before starting Loving by Nature she worked in television in Bristol as a researcher on programmes such as Country File and Bargain Hunt. She and her husband were starting a family which did not fit in with media work, so they moved back down to Dorset.

Loving By Nature has a mostly nature theme – the clues in the name!  Charlotte wanted to help people use reusable nappies and promotes these, which I must say are very less cumbersome than the ones I used for my babies back in the day! Charlotte sells them and works with the Council on a scheme to give them away. She will happily show you the new reusable nappies which are not only better for the environment, but they are also comfortable for babies.

Charlotte sells a range of wooden toys which she describes as open ended, meaning that they encourage children to use their imagination. She also sells books with nature and family togetherness themes, plus art and music are included.  Clothes for the 0-8 age range made from natural fibres are attractive. Charlotte sources all her wares from UK and Europe where possible.

This is a lovely shop, bright and true to its beliefs. On her website Charlotte says, “Our passion is bringing you the very best products we can find, whilst caring for our community and planet”. The shop certainly does this and you will get a warm welcome from Charlotte and her staff; you might even meet a very beautiful baby! I thoroughly recommend a visit especially with Christmas coming up.
