St George's Church Hall
The Church Hall at Fordington is available for hire for parties and other special events.
The hall has plenty of folding tables and comfortable dining-type chairs, plus a piano. There is a fully equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher and tea and coffee making facilities. Hall users may use the church car park if there is space.

Booking Times and Requests
St George’s Church reserves the right to refuse any bookings which it deems to be an inappropriate use of the venue. Booking requests may be denied where they clash with church events. Bookings will not usually be approved for Sunday mornings. Approval of a request will be given via email by the Hall Managers.
Booking time must include set up, set down and cleaning. No one may be on the premises before the time of your agreed booking. The premises must be vacated at the time agreed on your booking form. No one is to be on the premises after 10pm except by prior written consent.
The hall and kitchen must be left in a clean and tidy condition ready for the next hirer. There are cleaning products, broom and a dustpan and brush in the kitchen.
Cost, Payment and Cancellation
The hall can be booked at £16 per hour for private bookings, and £17.50 per hour for corporate bookings, for a minimum timeslot of two hours.
Payment must be made at least 7 days prior to the hirer's use of the venue. Payment must be made in full by BACS to the relevant account after your booking request is approved.
Fees may be waived for booking requests made by Church of England (sub)committees or groups.
Cancellations must be made with the earliest possible notice.
Bookings are refundable up to 7 days prior to the use of the venue. After this time no refund will be made unless exceptional circumstances apply.
If, due to unforeseen circumstances, St George’s Church has to cancel your booking, your booking fee will be refunded in full. However, St George’s Church is not liable for any losses the hirer may incur due to the cancellation.
Loss or Damage
The hirer hereby agrees to reimburse in full St George’s Church for any damage or loss to the hall or other church property resulting from this letting. Please be aware that your activity is not covered by the church’s insurance.
Parking may be available for hirers, though is not in itself for hire. Do not park so as to obstruct other vehicles, and be mindful of the access needs of emergency services and other church users. Parking is at the vehicle owner’s own risk.
Health and Safety
The hirer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all those who are using the hall during their activity and, where necessary, should complete their own risk assessment prior to their activity. St George’s Church cannot accept responsibility for any loss or injuries incurred by the hirer or their guests/clients while on the premises. The hirer is responsible for ensuring that appropriate third-party liability insurance is in place.
The hirer must agree to implement any relevant sections of the 2022-2023 General Risk Assessment which will be distributed with the booking request form. You must take all your rubbish away with you.
The hirer must comply with legislation regarding food and hygiene preparation, (serving and selling of food). No children under the age of 12 are to use the kitchen.
The hall is not licensed for the sale of alcohol.
The hirer is deemed to be the Responsible Person (as defined by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) who is responsible for ensuring fire exits are clear and unlocked and advising attendees of evacuation procedures. Fire extinguishers in the building are regularly serviced.
GDPR
Data taken for bookings will be held securely for the length of time that it is required. After this time any data will be removed from file in line with current general data protection regulations. No data will be passed on to any third party, unless there is legitimate business requirement or are instructed to do so for safeguarding or legal reasons.
Safeguarding
Organisations arranging activities for children, teenagers or vulnerable adults must have their own safeguarding policies in place. These policies must be available for the PCC to inspect if requested and must meet the same standard as the policies of the church. Individuals hiring the Church Hall for any activity must sign that they take full responsibility for children, young people or vulnerable adults who attend their activity.
Child Protection Statement: Private individuals hiring church premises for the purpose of ad-hoc or personal invitation events at which children and/or vulnerable adults will be present, must comply with the following statement: I agree to take full responsibility for the welfare of the children, young people and/or vulnerable adults who attend the event on the above date and will take all reasonable steps to prevent harm to children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
